Hey there! We’re Melissa and Mary Emily (Mel), the mother-daughter team behind Good Deed Goods, a purpose-driven boutique located inside Lee’s Inlet Apothecary in Murrells Inlet, SC. Here, every purchase powers a good cause, and every gift becomes a chance to give back.
We offer a one-of-a-kind shopping experience filled with hand-selected, socially responsible items that make a difference. Whether you’re shopping for a baby, a friend, or your home, you’ll find unique gifts that bring joy—and help others. With every purchase, we donate 10% to organizations doing good in our community, across the country, and around the world.
But our story didn’t start here—it started with a moment of calling.
Years ago, while attending the Atlanta Gift Market, I (Melissa) had a moment that changed everything. As I rode down the escalator surrounded by abundance—items that were wanted, not needed—I couldn’t help but think of my family, who were in Honduras building a home for someone in need. I felt the Lord speak to my heart: “Do more.” I didn’t know what that meant at the time, but I began seeking His guidance. That journey led us to tithe 10% of every sale, inspired by Deuteronomy 14:22, where we are instructed to give back a portion of what we’ve been given.
Our name, Good Deed Goods, comes from Hebrews 10:24—”Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” It’s our mission to live out that verse every day in our boutique.
What began as a small gift section within Lee’s Inlet Apothecary in 2002 grew into something much more. A decade later, Good Deed Goods was born as a full-fledged give-back boutique, and we’ve been serving with joy ever since. Today, I’m blessed to run it alongside my eldest daughter, Mel, and we are both deeply passionate about using our store to spread love, kindness, and generosity.
We truly believe that God can take a little change—just 10%—and make BIG changes with it.
